  • Program and Interim Operational Management, DHL Information Systems (Europe)

Successful delivery of several key streams in the migration of data centers from multiple European locations to Prague, Czech Republic, including Technical Infrastructure, Telecom and Support Organization and Knowledge Migration, resulting in the second largest data center in Europe.

  • Strategic Transformation planning, Optical Manufacturing
For a medium-sized optics manufacturer based in the Czech Republic, West Indies undertook a complete strategic audit and provided a three year strategic transformation plan to allow the company to execute on the new market opportunities available with the EU accession of the Czech Republic.
  • Treasury Review for the United Nations
Central review of treasury operations for the United Nations in New York, along with inspection/discovery tours to various locations including Geneva, Vienna & Pristina.
  • National Border Management Information System, Croatia
West Indies is supplying a Quality and Test Expert for this European Union-funded (CARDS) project for the Ministry of the Interior of Croatia.
  • Cooperative Bank Establishment/Micro-Finance Study, Ethiopia (charitable work)

Completed a study on the viability of setting up a cooperative bank to facilitate micro-finance in Addis Ababa, and regional Ethiopia. Created a blueprint for establishment of the cooperative bank and delivered a high level plan. This work has resulted in the establishment of Addis Cooperative Bank, with the approval of the National Bank of Ethiopia.

  • Financial Services Infrastructure Project Management
For a very large Insurance and Long Term Savings institution based in Norwich, UK, West Indies Management has provided short-term project management on a number of technical infrastructure and ICT projects.

  • Bank Diagnostic Review & Recommendations, Mongolia

    For a European Savings Bank Group client in Mongolia, conduct a diagnostic review and assessment of the banking IT software systems, and present findings, challenges, solutions and recommendations; together with upgrading and maintenance costs. Audited both back- and front-end systems, processes, roles and organization, focusing on Core Banking software, server and client hardware and applications, networking, database and data security and Business Continuity factors, developing a three year transformation plan to enable the bank to recapture market share, ensure competitiveness in services and enabling growth.

  • Evaluation of Czech State Treasury Project

    Provided a Short Term Technical Expert on two occasions to provide input to the interim evaluation of the EU-funded project to design and establish a State Treasury for the Czech Republic. 

  • Ministry of Education, Eritrea (charitable work)

    Review and evaluate the practice of the country-wide accounting/financial management system of the Ministry of Education and identify areas where there is need for improvement. This involved bottom up analysis of the three divisions within the department of: Finance, General Services and Human Resources Management.

  • Global IT Outsourcing Program

    • Provided a master planner to enable consistency and transparency of plans and progress across multiple business divisions for a major global Logistics company for a program to outsource the entire production IT infrastructure, including integration of 28 separate work stream plans and analysis and reporting on cross-program dependencies.

  • IT Services Germany Consolidation Project

    • Provided leadership of the Project Management Office to ensure coordination of delivery, transparency and stakeholder management in a project to consolidate eleven data centers to two locations, which increased the EBIT effect by millions of Euros while delivering early and above quality and results expectations

  • Rural Economic Development – Azerbaijan  

    • As part of an EU TACIS program, conduct an assessment of the operational systems of an Agribusiness Credit Institution in preparation for privatization and obtaining a full banking license.

  • Banking Operations – Bangladesh  

    • For BRAC bank, manage a project to evaluate and deliver operations manuals, and process and risk assessment for the bank’s entire organization.
